Bee house 18 x 10 x H: 25/27 cm. The advantages of having a bee house.

A Robo model bee house is a wooden structure that houses solitary bees, i.e. those that do not live in hives but build their nests in small holes or cracks. Bee houses are shelters that can be built or purchased to save bees and other pollinating insects. Placing a bee house in your garden can help protect these insects and safeguard biodiversity. Bees are at risk of extinction and encouraging their presence on our balconies or gardens is important for the entire ecosystem, to safeguard biodiversity and even allow the survival of human beings. In fact, without pollinating insects, much of the food that reaches our tables would disappear. Bee houses are an idea that began to spread about thirty years ago, starting from central Europe and, in particular, England, where anthropic intervention soon endangered biodiversity. The houses reproduce the conditions suitable for the survival and well-being of solitary insects, such as bees. This is also an action with a high ecological value.

The bee house should be placed in a bright and airy area, but protected from wind and rain. The ideal position is facing south or south-east, to take advantage of the morning sun. The house must be fixed at a height of at least one meter from the ground, on a wall, a tree or a pole. You can also hang it with a wire or rope, as long as it is stable and does not wobble.

The bee house requires little maintenance, but should be checked periodically to ensure there are no parasites, mold or predators. In autumn the bee cocoons can be removed and stored in a cool, dry place until the following spring, when they can be reinserted into the house. This prevents the bees from being disturbed during their winter rest.

Bee houses are an original and useful gift for those who love nature and want to contribute to the protection of pollinators. It is also an opportunity to closely observe the behavior of bees and discover their incredible diversity. A bee house is a symbol of respect and care for the environment and its creatures.
