Laminated fir board 1.8x100x30 cm

What does lamellar table mean?

This laminated boardis a fir wood panel produced with finger joint strips (finger joint) glued so that the joint is visible on the wire. It is sanded and ready to be painted. Used indoors, for the creation of kitchen tops, wooden stairs and various objects.

Comb processing of fir laminated boards

Finger joint processing is necessary to increase the sealing surface, which is enormously multiplied just as, for example, happens in car filters to increase the filtering surface. Furthermore, the continuous and precise tongue-and-groove joint, together with the high pressing, guarantees the total absence of empty spaces and a seal superior to that of the wood itself. This system is mostly used in the case of beams that will have to withstand high loads.

Before joining, the wood is dried to obtain the correct level of humidity which will allow the glue to effectively carry out its task; with drying you will also obtain maximum resistance from the wood; to homogenize the humidity across the entire surface of the board, it will then be left to rest for three days in special rooms.
After the rest period, all the usual checks are carried out and the ends of each board are cut. The 3 phases described previously will follow: comb processing, gluing, pressing.

Why do lamellar tables exist?

Their creation served to respond to 3 specific market needs:

  • obtain products of great thickness and/or width without having to cut down a tree of at least 120cm in diameter to obtain a table of only 80cm;
  • raise quality thanks to a careful examination of knots, buckling, warping, and warping which are eliminated before assembly;
  • ensure greater resistance to the application of weights, both vertically and obliquely.

The qualities of laminated boards compared to solid wood

  • Greater flexibility and increased breaking load.
  • Absence of warping and warping.
  • Noticeable reduction of typical wood "defects".
  • Greater ease of processing with non-professional and manual tools.

What can be achieved

Practically everything!
The different thicknesses and surfaces available allow you to build: furniture, kitchens, wardrobes, chairs, benches, outdoor houses and wardrobes, mezzanines, load-bearing structures, false ceilings.

Surface treatments

Laminated wood is painted with the same products and techniques as normal solid wood.
